Today we are introducing Melissa Robertson-Bye - owners of Munching Monster Chewlery! You can find her goodies here!

Chomp Supply: What's your favourite food? Why?
Munching Monster Chewlery: Pasta! Love it because I love carbs and what's there not to love about pasta!
CS: What's your favourite vacation spot? Why?
MMC: Anywhere near the ocean. There is something calming about sitting by the water.
CS: Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
MMC: I am married to Jesse. We have been together for almost 16 years. We have 1 daughter named Lilly. She is free spirited and very active. We have lived in Hamilton for 7 years. We previously lived in Burlington. I love music and to write. As a family we love adventures!
CS: Describe your creative style.
MMC: Bright, colourful and fun!
CS: How did you get into crafting?
MMC: Lilly lost an expensive clip that we purchased for her. When looking for a replacement I couldn't find anything local that was affordable.
CS: What was the first thing you ever made?
MMC: Pacifier Clip!
CS: What project/product are you most proud of?
MMC: Our spring 2019 Collection. It was the first time we created an actual collection of products!
CS: What does your current work space look like?
MMC: I work from a co-working space in downtown Hamilton. I have all my beads and product in 70 square feet of space.
CS: What does your dream work space look like?
MMC: A private studio or 2 in the studio.
CS: How do you balance work and home life?
MMC: I set times that I'm at the studio and then my home time is for Lilly. When she goes to bed then I can start work again. Monday night is always date night with Jesse. Usually it's just at home.
CS: Where do you see your business going in the next five years?
MMC: More wholesale accounts for our sensory products. Several custom made sensory pendants 3 full employees.
CS: What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own small business?
MMC: Make sure you are passionate about what you are starting. Passion will light the fire.
CS: What do you love most about Chomp?
MMC: The community. Everyone is there to help one another.
CS: What would you like to see Chomp carry in the future?
MMC: Our custom monster bead. ;)
